LastPad
LastPad is a reusable menstrual pad. You wear it like a disposable pad, wash it, and use it again. It comes in three sizes, and each pad comes with a pouch to carry it in.
Three sizes. Small is for lighter days. Medium is an everyday pad, for work or sport. Large is for heavy-flow days. By the maker's figures, Small holds 8 ml, Medium 12 ml and Large 16 ml.
Three layers. The top layer, against the skin, is a soft polyester. The middle layer is a polyester and bamboo blend that draws moisture away from the skin and holds it. The bottom layer is TPU, a waterproof film that keeps the liquid in. A silicone strip on the back stops the pad from sliding.
Washing. Close the velcro, put the pads in a laundry bag and wash them cold in the machine, without fabric softener. Let them air dry. Until wash day, a used pad goes in its pouch.
How many you need. That depends on your flow. The maker suggests at least three pads a day. If you wash halfway through your period, you need about half as many.
If the velcro scratches. Line the two tabs up exactly, or set them slightly apart, so only the soft side faces out.
The Large LastObject Laundry Bag fits pads.
